I've copied all files and added the right permissions.

Also edited the files as expected and applied the changes on my default skin but I can't seem to get this working right.

Everytime I try to run install.php it will just output the IPS Driver Error.

Would please someone help me get this solved?

Thanks!

can you enable dev mode to 1 in init.php and paste the error here?

Thank you for the quick reply.

I've reverted back all modifications done on the public server machine and will start testing on my private local server.

After reverting back these files and getting back inside the forum public space I noticed that other forum members had been posting during the time interval in which the forum was supposed to be inoperational which is quite strange and only occured to me once when I was implementing mkportal with IPB and I had to use IE (my default browser is FF) to get inside.

------------

I will double check all file edits to ensure I didn't missed anything, enable debug mode and then reply back my results.

------

Thank you for sharing your time/work and providing support, it's very rare to find people willing to help others for free.

PLEASE NOTE that it will not work under localhost due to mod_rewrite incompatibility with windows on apache
########

could you please paste the DB error?
you have to be in dev mode, this is done by enabling it in init.php

then when the error pops up could you paste it here?

when did it start getting errors? was it the first time you viewed the install file?

Or you can look in forums/cache and find the error file for the date. You don't need to enable dev mode for that.

thank you for this tip.

I didn't know it was possible to view the outputed database errors.

You can download the present day file here: http://nunobrito.eu/temp/sql_error_03_25_08.cgi

Beware I also updated the forum version to the latest one available by IPB and when doing the upgrade it mentioned a error on the database. IPB provided a tool to correct the invalid data and I thought it had been solved.

Looking on the log file I think that this issue is still not corrected.

------

If localhost is out of the picture because of mod rewrite then I'll likely continue testing on the live board and try to provide as much feedback as possible.

The forum members are aware of glitches on the matrix today and maybe tomorrow so it won't cause much inconvenience anyway.

Yes, the first time I ran the install file it outputed these errors.

Then, I noticed that I lacked the right permissions and gave 777 to the mentioned files (a few of them listed on the manual were not available the SEO package, I remember sitemap.gz.xml.dist not being there)

Sorry for reporting these troubles, I'm not a developer but I want to help somehow.

You can use mod_rewrite under localhost on windows as I`m currently using it for my own web development.

You need to stop apache and edit the httpd.conf file and change this line
CODE
#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

to this
CODE
LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

Restart Apache and mod_rewrite will now work

I'm having this same issue..

Also, while attempting to run install.php, it only gives the 'Upgrade' button. I've done all file edits properly, and this is a fresh install of IP.Board 2.3.4. I'm on a linux based server running PHP 5.2.5.

Hopefully someone can figure this one out..

Hi,

I've renamed install_settings.xml to some other filename and used "touch" to create a blank file and the install didn't worked because it complained about upgrades/upg_200.php missing

Then I made a copy of upg_210.php to upg_200.php repeated the install script and gave back the IPS driver error again.

---

Went to check the log and there's a new entry after these experiments:
QUOTE

===================================================
Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2008 12:07:56 -0700
Error Number: 1146
Error: Table 'forumsdb.ibf_tags' doesn't exist
IP Address: 87.103.35.193
Page: /forums/ipbseo_install/install.php
mySQL query error: alter table ibf_tags ADD `userid` mediumint not null

Any ideas?

Used developer mode and tried to run the install file again, this was the outputed errror:
QUOTE
mySQL query error: alter table ibf_tags ADD `userid` mediumint not null

SQL error: Table 'forumsdb.ibf_tags' doesn't exist
SQL error code: 1146
Date: Tuesday 25th of March 2008 02:22:58 PM

I managed to make minerva work up to some extent.

Some components aren't working such as tags. Others like FURL are working, but along the forum upgrade came a substancial increase of "guests" (>300) and FURL was eating away all the server resources and often displaying "Internal Server error" so I needed to keep it disabled.

Social bookmarks are working and get correctly displayed.

`id` MEDIUMINT NOT NULL auto_increment primary key,
`tid` MEDIUMINT NOT NULL ,
`userid` MEDIUMINT NOT NULL ,
`tag` VARCHAR( 128 ) NOT NULL
)ENGINE = MYISAM;

CODE
alter table ibf_topics ADD `cache_tag` text not null
